RECIPE:
1 1/2 oz Angostura Bitters
1/2 oz Rye Whiskey
3/4 oz Lemon Juice
1 oz Orgeat

The Trinidad Sour (created by @giuseppe_gonzalez ) tastes like you tried the cinnamon challenge but accidentally grabbed your mom’s allspice.

It’s super intense and spicy with just a little lemon and sweet almond in the background. Have you ever tried a bitters based cocktail?

Store bought sour mix just doesn’t cut it… If Store bought sour mix just doesn’t cut it… If you’re making drinks that call for sour mix try them with this instead.

RECIPE:
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water

Make a simple syrup by heating the sugar and water on the stove just until the sugar dissolves. Let the syrup cool, add in citrus juice, and store in the fridge.

You can always substitute sour mix for a 50/50 blend of citrus juice and simple syrup so you don’t have to make a whole batch of mix.

Pineapple and lemon juice make this into a highball with great balance between fruity and complex.

Created in 1917 by Tom Bolluck, the first black bartender to publish a bar manual.
