Ingredients
3TbsGum Arabic Powder
1/4cupHot Water
1cupSugar
3/4cupWater
Instructions
Add the gum arabic powder and hot water to a small container and stir to combine. There will still be small clumps of powder.
Let the hot water/powder mixture sit for 2-3 hours until it is a smooth gel like consistency.
Then combine the remaining water and sugar in a small saucepan and heat gently just until the sugar dissolves and remove from heat.
Add the gum arabic mixture to the saucepan, stir to combine and then let cool to room temperature.
Store the finished syrup in a glass bottle in the fridge for 4+ months.
Notes
Raw can sugar is my favorite to use for any type of syrup for just a little hint of flavor. You can experiment by adding dried spices or herbs like cinnamon, cloves, or rosemary and letting them infuse in the syrup overnight.
